Time

We have chosen time as our Antagonist of the piece, all powerful and controlling. Megan and Becks will play them in one cast and Karl and I in the other. to gain some perspective on the characters and who to actually personify time as a living being.

I found  3 figuers or gods that are in controll of time.

1. Chronos: Meaning "time" in greek, is a god of the passing of time, from the name Chronos you are given the words chronological and chronicle. Chronos is usually portrayed through an old, wise man with a long, grey beard. In greek mythology Chronos creats an egg which hatchest out the first generation of gods giving presenting him as creator of hierarchy and generation through time. 
2. Father Time: is usually depicted as an elderly bearded man, dressed in a robe and carrying a scythe and an hourglass or other timekeeping device (which represents time's constant one-way movement). This image derives from several sources, including the Grim Reaper and Cronus, the Greek Titan of human time, reaping and calendars, or The Lord of Time.
3. Aion: is associated with time, the orb or circle encompassing the universe. The "time" represented by Aion is unbounded, in contrast to Chronos as empirical time divided into past, present, and future^. He is a god of eternity, Aion gives you the word Aeon meaning an infinite or very long period of time. 
   
   
   We all got togther to discuss how we could introduce our characters as Time in a clear way. We came up with a song and some lines which would be shared between the two as if both Antagonists were conected. We also discussed how are character would look and whether they would stand in to the past scenes or mordern day scenes. We came up with they idea of having them show off the english ideal of efficency durring the 1940's having the antgonist prtray a "Pathe" type voice similar to that of BBC presenters at the time.   

Prisoner of War

After seeing the production of Jasim Vardimons Park we were inspierd by one of the scenes involving a flag being waved vigerusly while the others on stage move with it to the long "power of love". We thought it could be used in the Prisoner of war scene to express the termoil and hardships prisoners faced. Chloe, Elle, Harry, Mandi and Nick created this and then tought it to the rest of us as it was thought that the more people being moved by the flag would appear more powerful.

Harry has also written a scene to go before this piece of movement to set the scene and to add some substance to it, there has also been a descusion of having a smaller, heavier peice of movement before hand. During this scene it has been discussed that the younger man changes place with the older man showing how war can change and effect someone. Here is the movement Video:

Reunited Hospital Scene

When we split up to devise scenes I went with Harry, Ellie and Megan and we chose to create the Reunited in Hospitl scene after the couple have lost contact with eachother. An injured soldier enters and is placed on a table, a nurse comes into look at him but dosent recognise him untill he touches her check (a gestuer they always do) suddenly both realise who eachother are and the rest of the scen is expressed through a dance on the table which was influenced by Frantic Assembly's "Love Song".

We then layerd this scen by adding in the old woman before hand reading her diary of who she became a nurse which causes the flashback, the old lady is still present in the scene but stays withing the backgrond copying gestuers of her younger self, she also calls out different months simpolysing the time they have together which will be taken from them again when he is re-drafted. here is the Video:
